President – IALI – 2022 & 2017
This year is very challenging for me, as I call it a “Tug of War.” I have faced many obstacles and hurdles, but I’m sure that with your support and guidance I will overcome all of them.

Dear IALI Members:

Namaste to all.

I hope you and your loved ones are keeping in good health and are safe during this COVID 19 pandemic. Owing to safety precautions for our members and
the wellbeing of their families and themselves, we have limited many of our indoor activities. We are slowly resuming those events and programs back to normality. Our forums have started to conduct their programs.
As the 32nd President of this prestigious organization of 2400 members, it is my duty to periodically update our members about our activities and events. In the past five months, we have staged a wide array of successful
events.

At the start of the year, we held the annual induction ceremony for the new executive council on January 16, followed by Republic Day celebration on January 26, Valentine Dinner and Dance on February 14, Holi festivities on March 13, and Vaisakhi observance on April 17. Our Secretary has been sending all the reports to all those emails available at our end. We have also created a social media WhatsApp group to inform and update our members.

Attend and Participate in all IALI Programs, Forums

IALI members can choose to enroll, attend and participate in as many life-fulfilling activities, make friends and network in all programs offered by the India Association of Long Island. Among the forums are Women's, Men's, Seniors, Sangeet, Sports, Outreach, Professional, Spiritual, Meditation and Diversity.

To the existing Forums comprising Women's, Men's, Seniors, Sangeet, Sports, Outreach, Professional, Spiritual and Meditation, I would like to thank you all for your unconditional love and support during this election for electing me as a second term President.

It is my promise that I will try my best to uphold the IALI constitution and by-laws while maintaining the dignity and respect of the organization in the outer world.

This year is a very challenging year as I call it a “Tug of War.” I have faced many obstacles and hurdles, but I am sure that with your support and guidance I will overcome all of that.

To add to the existing Women's, Men's, Seniors, Sangeet, Sports, Outreach, Professional, Spiritual and Meditation forums, I have introduced a Diversity Forum or Multicultural Forum to bring the multi-cultures of India together, by
choosing representatives from different regions of India. Unfortunately, due to little or no support for this vision, this initiative has not yet moved off the
ground. I would also like to have a ``Housing Panel`` to explore the opportunity for a larger property to house the headquarters for IALI to meet the needs of our growing membership with space for the variety of programs for our future.
Last but not least, the addition of A Matrimonial Forum for our youngsters to choose their partners from Indian group will hopefully augur well for the future of our vast resources in our community.

A lot has been achieved and a lot is on the floor. I need all of your support in updating our database. Please help us in updating the emails, cell phone numbers of you and your loved ones. Every President takes the oath of office
thinking that she or he will complete this gigantic task, but it is still an unfinished job! If you have any questions and/or unresolved issues, please call or write to us. Please visit our website frequently for all the updates. We are working on modifying our website to make it user friendly. Together we stand, divided we fall.
